Key Topics

Throughout the past decade, the Initiative has raised awareness and encouraged action on several key topics such as Marine Protected Areas, Enforcement, Coral Reef Monitoring and Coral Reef Disease. ICRI has also developed and initiated some new projects, for example the Coral Reef Crime Scene Investigation, Economic Valuation of Coral Reefs and Related Ecosystems, and the ICRI East Asia Initiative on MPA networks. These projects are typically implemented through an ICRI Ad Hoc committee, consisting of the most active ICRI members in this issue area, and by ICRI Members themselves.
