This is a report on the findings of a KAP field study conducted on behalf of the WWF, TPO for its RUMAKI Seascape programme, the purpose of which was to “improve socio-economic well-being of coastal RUFIJI-MAFIA-KILWA communities through sustainable, participatory and equitable utilisation and protection of their marine and coastal resources”. The main objective of the consultancy was to conduct a baseline survey of knowledge, attitudes & perceptions (KAP) in representative coastal communities in Rufij, Mafia and Kilwa districts that would assist RUMAKI programme.
