The Coral Restoration Consortium (CRC) Monitoring Working Group and NOAA have just released the Coral Reef Restoration Monitoring Guide: Methods to evaluate success from local to ecosystem scales.
This new guide provides a scalable scientific approach to evaluate progress towards restoration success and to provide guidance for monitoring coral reef restoration to measure restoration success. The guide has been designed to be used by coral restoration practitioners to quantify the success of the restoration project based on the goal or objective, compare between projects, programs, and regions, increase the efficiency of restoration and data collection, and make informed decisions about restoration efforts.
In addition to the 150-page guide, a two-page summary has also been produced.
