The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation recently released a new activity and colouring book that teaches children about the threats to coral reefs through fun and educational activities. The Reefs at Risk Activity & Colouring Book includes interactive activities, thought-provoking questions, and captivating colouring pages that raise awareness about the challenges coral reefs face.

Released just in time for Coral Bleaching Awareness Month, the first section of the book teaches students about coral bleaching and how climate change impacts coral reefs. Through interactive exercises and colouring pages, it helps students grasp the intricate relationship between corals and zooxanthellae, understand the root causes of coral bleaching, and help students understand what they can do to make a difference.

The Foundation created the book to increase ocean literacy among the next generation and raise awareness of the plight of coral reefs. Designed for students ages 9-13, the book contains educational activities that are flexible and can be adjusted to suit different grade levels and educational settings.  Not only is the book informative, but it is also beautiful. Each page has stunning illustrations for students to colour in, created by the exceptionally gifted artist, Ryan Sobel.

Dive into the book to embark on an adventure to explore coral reefs and the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world. For more information head to Living Oceans Foundation.
