Implementing the Coral Reef Breakthrough: Solutions #ForCoral

The Principality of Monaco is once again hosting its ‘Monaco Ocean Week’ providing a unique forum for discussions, meetings, experimentation and opportunity. The week will take place from 19th – 22nd March 2024, and follow the Monaco Blue Initiative (18th March 2024).

At the occasion of the Monaco Ocean Week, ICRI, in collaboration with the Global Fund for Coral Reefs, the Coral Research & Development Accelerator Platform (CORDAP) an the UN High-Level Climate Champions, will showcase solutions to implement the Coral Reef Breakthrough. We will highlight the Coral Reef Breakthrough as the global convening mechanism for coral reefs, their effective conservation, protection, and restoration alongside the current and future solutions for its implementation. The event will form an informative structure with presentations of solutions and enable discussions with developers and implementers. The presentations will elevate the Coral Reef Breakthrough, its targets, and actions for implementation – showcasing solutions for the future of coral reefs leading to finance mobilisation, and technical support for reef communities.

The event will function through general and opening remarks followed by focused short pitches from solution providers from pitch tables located throughout the room highlighting the four action points of the Coral Reef Breakthrough. Following the agenda of remarks, a networking and discussion section will be hosted with the attendees and solution providers. This unique arrangement aims to facilitate seamless networking opportunities with solution providers, allowing attendees to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange valuable knowledge, share lessons learnt, and foster regional and international partnerships.
